I am good with anyone who chooses to lock their pieces. I am, however, more concerned with a host of users who cannot read the locked pieces, but also cannot afford to subscribe to Medium to be able to read, clap, highlight, and respond to locked pieces, who have been users well before 2016.

I am more concerned with loyalty than I am with gaining any form of income from Medium. I did not seek out Medium to get paid, that was not my goal. To get read? Yes. To interact with other like minds? Yes. To share my work in hopes of connecting with others and become a part of a community? Yes.

There are a plethora of publications on here that accept locked pieces and operate in that vein because Medium has created this type of platform, but many that publish only unlocked pieces are becoming few and far between. I want to keep that alive. The day that I am unable to do so, I will not be a user on Medium.

I push my work out into the world in other ways. I do not and cannot solely rely on Medium. What you choose to do on Medium and why is totally up to you and anyone else on here. We all have our reasons for doing what we do. Stand strong and firm on yours, please believe, I will stand strong and firm on mine. Peace Tracy.
