I still have not found the true words for how I feel about this, but I saw it coming. The fact that it actually did is a bit mesmerizing, but not so much so. I think everything people wanted or griped about as suggestions for and/or changes in Medium could have been handled without dipping into the pockets of those already showering them with barrels of dough.

To me, it feels like digital reverse pimping with a serious obliviousness added on as an upgrade.

For everyone partaking, I really hope it goes well. I would hate to see anyone upset or hurt for investing in something they truly love that backfires and is easily swept under a rug like it never occurred.
