It is highly important to establish firm ground in the beginning; some people may not like it, some people may be all for it.
I will tell a person in a heartbeat, “I fight my own battles. I do not want you fighting mine.” This goes for anyone in my life who may feel the need to Joe Frazier it up on my behalf. But, will I bug out if they do? No. Would I be upset if it did not cross their mind to duke it out whether verbally or physically? No.
I can box. I am pretty good with a switchblade, mean with a .38 too. Do I want to be? No. Do I sometimes have to be? Well, yes. That is life. You prepare for the times you need to be prepared just in case those times arrive.
I am neutral. I like to maintain order. When order is not manageable, it is hard for me to lean one way or the other, especially involving friends. I hate to be in the middle, the bystander watching it all unfold. But, if wrong is wrong all day long, I will call wrong, wrong, because it is. “Ain’t no half-stepping” or two ways about it.
