Kay, I truly admire you.

I am watching Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, the Musical and the tearjerker song “Don’t Leave Me Now” is sounding on the television and all I can think about while reading this is, “Get on with your life, Lyle” and I can say the same to you.

Go on and do the darn thing. You deserve it from what I have read. Heck, take two gap years. I am truly looking forward to reading the work that will drop out of your soul when it’s all said and done.

“I was a total cliché. A Lifetime Movie of the Week. But somehow, on the way, in that blistering sun, I’d dropped that frayed, battered baton at the bottom of the Sea of Cortéz. My forties, and my running days, were over.”

“So I’m turning 60 soon, and I’m taking my Gap Year. The kids are grown, and the sun is calling. I’m going to sail through the Panama Canal and around Madagascar and up the Mediterranean, and who knows where else.”

Gap it up, Kay. Peace. 💙
