Light It Up (Day 5)
Light Up Medium! Light Up The World!
NC: Wednesday, September 28, 2016: Where there is light, I will follow. Darkness has no reign here. NONE.
There are 3 candles tonight.
I have one living Grandmother.
2 Great-Grandmothers gone. 1 Grandmother.
Most of you know, if you have been following me for a while, that I have a pretty hard time in the months of May and October. My Maternal Grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer in February of 2003. I graduated from college in May of 2003. She could not attend. She was dying. There was nothing they could do. In September of 2003, she was placed in hospice care. October… she was gone. It will be 13 years on October 13, 2016 and I still cannot shake it. I do not think I ever will.
She was of mixed race: Caucasian/African American. If she wanted to, she could “pass.” She never wanted to. She was vocal about her heritage and did not let anyone mistake her for something she was not. One of the main things she taught me was to speak my mind. As a matter of fact, she would say, “Damn that, speak your mind.” The Bronx (as in New York) deep in her bones, Georgia as her core, love and light deep within her soul. I miss her more now. A lot more.
Ayesha wants one million flames. She will get them. Ezinne wants $1 Million, this is why. These two women are vocal about what they want and the why behind it. So, I am going to try a little something; see if these folks can hear/feel/catch on to us LIGHTING IT UP! Too many are still in pain. All we want to do is exist. All we want to do is breathe. All we want to be is free.
Give Us THAT!
It couldn’t hurt, right? RIGHT!
I affirm that I am light. Whenever there is darkness, I will shine.
Light Up Medium!
Light Up The World!
One Million Flames. One Million Bucks. One Millions Lives. One Million Hearts. Be Light. Be Love. Spread the word.
