Light Up The World!

I was supposed to do this tomorrow, meaning Sunday, but guess what? It is burning in me right now. So, here it is. Whenever I see, “Hey Pixie,” from our Grand Lioness of This Glorious Mess, I know one of three things:

I have said something.
I need to do something.
We must act.

Oddly enough, all three are motives for this post. People are hurting. People are in pain. I cannot tell you how badly I am sleeping now, but that will soon pass. I am not worried about that. Ayesha drummed this up, and since I am of sound mind and a bit more calm than I was two days ago, today seems suitable rather than tomorrow. I must act while I can, yes?

YES!

Can we start a candle lighting vigil? Can we stoke a million people to light a candle every day for 7 days? Can we do that? Can we get everyone on Medium to bring light into this darkness? Let’s do it Tre.

LET’S!

You have been wanting to help. I have not had any recent solutions. None that I can think of seem feasible in the State where I reside. Far too many people have their minds focused elsewhere. Here is the thing: I cannot focus on anything else because the skin in which I live is under attack every single day. The mirror to them, is mine enemy. There is no other focus. Have at that any way you want to, but it is the truth. You got hopes? You got dreams? Are you really trying to stick this thang out with us, hmm? Show and Prove. Here we go:

For the next 7 days, beginning at 7:11 p.m. (no matter the time zone, 7:11 p.m., your time), light a candle or several, for 17 minutes.

Affirmation:

Can you come up with a universal affirmation?

Oh Sun Goddess, yes, I can.

“I affirm that I am light. Whenever there is darkness, I will shine.”

It is dark now.

Can you affirm that? Will you be light? Will you shine? Can we drown out the darkness here on Medium? Then, yes, because it cannot end here, can we do it elsewhere too? All over? Where you are? Where you’re going? Where your loved ones reside? Can you take Light with you and drown out the darkness?

7 Days
At 7:11 p.m. (beginning Saturday, September 24, 2016.)
17 minutes.

In recognition of…
In honor of…
In memory of…

What we are asking in this post: that you post up pictures of your efforts in this every night. Lock and load it in your calendar as a reminder. Light a candle or several, declare the affirmation, share the photos. I will have this post pinned as a featured post via my profile until next Saturday night.

Jonas Ellison, this is a ball. Can you bounce it? Will you throw it? I am hoping that you can. SF Ali, can you shake this? Are you willing to stir it? Please say that you will. BHD, do you have a quote suitable for what we are requesting? If you do, will you share it?

“I affirm that I am light. Whenever there is darkness, I will shine.”

Please. Please. I am asking you in a nice way not to bring any negativity into this post. If I see anything other than light, love, affirmation, uplifting quotes, etc, I will block the piss outta you. I won’t tolerate it, not here. NOT NOW.

7 Days
At 7:11 p.m. (beginning Saturday, September 24, 2016.)
17 minutes.

Share this. Tweet it. Snap Chat it. I don’t know, but do what you do because it is too dark right now and we need light, especially here. Especially where we share our thoughts, give our hearts, express our feelings. Whatever you can do to get this going, please do it. Be Light. Please. Be Light.
