Some people have additional time, some do not. Incorporating more reading time in one’s life when there’s already full-time responsibilities during the working week hours and after one punches off the clock, leaves little to no reading/writing/building time for a lot of others things. I am speaking from experience as I do not know if anyone else has this dilemma, but I am sure I am not alone regarding it.
Things still get lost via Medium. If one week is slower in a publication than the next, much of it has a lot to do with timing and the flow of work being pushed through one’s feed throughout a Medium day. Some things will get missed. And with newer publications, that is going to happen more often than not.
Patience (you knew this was coming, right? And, I am sure you’re gonna get me for this as you have a great deal of it). I have found if one is patient, over time, things build. They come to form. They shape. They grow into what you probably need or want them to. I love what you have done here — you want to know what works, what doesn’t, what can in the future. It’s helpful and with everything else booming on Medium, a newer publication, especially one with the differences in calls and submissions of the Scene & Heard, providing a home for not just Writers, it will flourish at the right time.
And when it does:
I know it will. People want what is offered — timing and patience. The floodgates will open at the right time and not a moment before.
